About

We got tired of dashboards.

Mashal is a small, focused product built by people who'd rather read one good sentence about Tuesday than open twelve graphs about last month.

Why this exists

The first time we ran a content week for a Saudi ecommerce brand, we exported analytics from four platforms and spent the morning building a Notion table to compare them. By the time we'd reconciled the numbers, the week was halfway over and we still hadn't decided what to do about it.

So we started writing a workflow: pull the data automatically every night, run an analysis pass with a real LLM, and put the result in front of us at 6 AM. Verdict, three actions, six signals. Done by the second sip of coffee.

That workflow became Mashal.

Who built it

Mashal is a product of Empakt Financial Inc. — a Toronto-based team. We've been building data products since 2019, mostly inside agencies and consultancies. Mashal is what we built when we wanted to make tools other people could use, not just dashboards we kept to ourselves.

We picked social intelligence because it's the data category where the gap between "I have the numbers" and "I know what to do" is widest. Every creator we know has a Notion full of analytics screenshots. None of them open it.

Why GCC + creator-economy focus

We started building Mashal in the GCC because the audience here is uniquely demanding: Arabic + English content, TikTok as a primary discovery channel, Snapchat doing 100M+ daily impressions on a national scale, and ecommerce brands that move from zero to "household name" in a single Ramadan campaign. If Mashal works for a Saudi creator, it works for a creator anywhere.

We're now expanding north and west — Canada and the UK have both built up a meaningful trial cohort, and the model handles English-first markets just as cleanly. The market context engine inside the brief adapts automatically when your workspace is in Saudi vs Canada vs Pakistan; the verdict reasons about your market, not someone else's.

What we promise

How we work

Small team, weekly release. Every Sunday we ship one update — sometimes a new screen, sometimes a single signal kind, sometimes a paragraph-of-code bugfix that nobody noticed.

We don't take outside funding right now. That decision keeps Mashal focused on the customers paying for it instead of the next investor pitch. If that changes, we'll write about it before the press release.

Talk to us

The fastest way to reach the team is the contact page. We read every message and answer most within a working day. For partnership, press, or anything that should not sit in a shared inbox, write to hello@mashal.app.
